Weekend Sessions
Saturday after getting back from the baby shower Jake and I decided to take advantage of the clear skies and dry pavement to have a nice afternoon skate sesh. We left from my house down Jackson and kicked pushed towards campus, campus has been super nice to skate because everyone has been home for winter holidays. With classes starting today we figured that it would be our last quite weekend on campus for a couple months and took advantage of the nice street spots. Jake has been skating for years but I only started about a year ago and feel more comfortable on the street than the park. On our way to campus we stopped at the six-stair pictured bellow for Jake to try and hit.
Although Jake gave it a bunch of tries he didn't end up landing the ollie down the six-stair before we left. In his defense He just arrived back to Corvallis after winter vacation in his hometown Walla Walla WA where it's been cold and snowy and he hasn't been able to skate. I brought my camera thanks to Steemit which has driven me to take more pictures in my day to day life making me a better photographer as well. Thanks Steemit for that. Also met a Golden Retriever puppy that was walking by while I was taking pictures.
After leaving this stair set we went onto campus and skated around the top of the parking garage a for awhile practicing ollies and pop shove-its. We were here right around sunset at this point so I took the opportunity to try and get a good picture of the clouds.
After bombing down the five level parking garage we headed to a little two-stair we like to hit on a regular basis to get some more stair an ollie practice in. While we were here I took some more photos in the dying light and the dim lights between the two brick buildings. Jake took the time to practice his 180s pictured below
Swapped sides for a different perspective.
Jake switching perspective and 180ing up the little two-stair.
And poppin' off standard ollies
Jake offered to take some photos of me puttin' in some work on the stair set after he got tired and wanted to take a little break. I gladly handed him the camera and tried to give him a crash course on navigating the complicated Panasonic I've been using.
I was pretty stoked on the sesh and was content after landing a couple pop shove-its off the stair-set and was super impressed at the shots Jake took considering it was his first time ever. I was glad to have gotten one last session while campus was empty and glad to have my skate partner back in town. I started classes today and can already tell that this term it will be harder to skate as frequently as I would like with my class load and the impending weather. I probably won't be able to post as frequently but I will do my best!!!! All these photos were taken with a Panasonic DMC-G1. Thanks for looking!!!!
