The skateboarding trick list update and life lessons learnt
This post is a continuation to my trick list post I put up .

Last week I went to the skate park in order to begin my quest of landing these tricks. I was attending “old mans night”, which is a monthly skate session for over 30’s. An entry fee of £8 gets you a session, a burger and a beer. The perfect place to start my quest. Due to me posting my trick list on Facebook and Instagram all my friends knew and set about geeing me up to start crossing things off.
However I had just moved into a new place and had not been to gym in a while so my fitness and energy levels were pretty low. Therefore I had no expectations and just went about enjoying the session.
What happened over the course of the next hour was awesome and bears reference to how to handle situations in life . What happened was I did not land any of the tricks (well I landed one but not up to the standard I wanted to capture on film, skating all about style). Instead I re-learnt an old trick (a hand plant) and my brother landed one of the tricks (the front side boneless) due to me trying it.

Yea nice one but how does this resonate with life asshole ?
Well, a lot of times in life you have plans and goals , with the intention of completing these goals and proceeding ever forwards until you die. However sometimes you will be taken on a natural tangent and experience enjoyment from something that you never planned to do. I went to the session with the intent of landing 1 of 3 tricks but left having re-learnt an old trick. The reason being I was in the moment and just went with how I was feeling that day.

In addition to this sometimes in life by setting goals and working to achieve them you end up inspiring others. I went to the session intent on landing the front side boneless however my brother ended up doing it. The reason he ended up doing it, is because he saw me trying it and asked if he could try as well . How many times in life does someone tell you something like , “ I have been meaning to tell you , seeing you so motivated has motivated me to do this as well ”
In short I had a good session and possibly thought too much about the session and life , if it comes off as pretentious, I apologise .
Please see vid of sesh below. I am up first , showing attempt at hand plant and then landing it. My brother is up next showing him doing the front side boneless.
Awesome post! I love the concept of having a 30s and over session. So cool to see people keep skating and those older tricks are really nice! Keep up the good work!
Thanks mate
I was looking forward to this post and the video :D
Thank you for sharing it!
I was thinking to try something like that as well... Just kidding... If I take one step on the ramp I will already break me leg! :D
Thank you Snake you inspired me to get it together and post it
