What's the Good Thing about Being Single?

There are so many people nowadays feel depressed,lonely, and unhappy. Those feelings mostly happen just because they do not have someone special who is called “boyfriend” or “girlfriend” in their life. The thought that once they find someone, they will finally be happy. It may be true having someone can make you happy, but there is one thing that you have to know, there are lots of people out there whom in relationships but they do feel unhappy. Many of them feel trapped and rather being single than dating. Therefore, here are some reasons to consider why being single is better than dating.
Firstly, you can be more productive. According to Amy Moryn a psycotherapist, alone time can help people be more productive as well. Being single means there will no unnecessary talk, so you will not waste your time to having chat through Whatsapp or other social media accounts to update anything what you have done or what you are doing, like “Have you eaten yet?”,”What are you up to?”, “Where do you want to go?” etc. Those all such unimportant things to do and kind of wasting your time. Therefore, if you are single you can do beneficial and productive things, such as expand your hobbies, talents, and many more.
Secondly, single people tend to have stronger social relatives. In 2015, social scientists named Natalia Sarkisian and Naomi Gerstel found out that singles more likely to have stronger social relationships rather than people in relationship. Sarkisian and Gerstel wrote in their paper “being single increases the social connections of both women and men.” For instance, in a relationship sometimes your partner does not like when you put the priority for someone else even for your friends. In some cases, a partner can get over jealousy when you interact with the opposite gender, it can give you uneasinesss in making friend with someone new. Thus, being single can give lots of chance to meet and know new acquaintances without any worries, and you can enjoy the plentiful of time with your friends.
Thirdly, singles tend to be healthier. According to a survey of 2000 Americans by Amerisleep (a mattress company) in 2017, found that single people sleep an average of 7.13 hours per night-more than those in relationships. As we know, adequate sleep is one of the important thing to be healthy. Singles tend to sleep early because they do not have to do late night talk with their partner and vice versa. In addition, people who are in relationship tend to have inadequate sleep because they worry about their partner when they are nowhere to be found or something about “couple fight” that can cause lack of sleep. For that reason, by being single you will not experience those things and will have adequate sleep which can make you healthier.
Lastly, being single can make you to be an independent person. Several studies showed an evidence that single people tended to be more independent rather than who don’t. You might think having relationships can help you to face the world due to you have someone on your side. Yet, you never know that having someone also can cause some problems, such as all the compromises and sacrifices in order to maintain the relationship. In the end, the one that you can depend on is yourself; there is nothing last forever including your partner. There will be a moment when your partner will not be there for you. That is why being single can help you to encourage yourself to be more independent.
As the result, why being single is better are: it can increase your productivity, you can build a new friendship with whoever you want,you tend to be fitter,and it will make you to become more independent. That is why you do not have to worry if you are single right now, you can utilize your time to be a better person. Moreover, having a date does not mean will bring the happiness to you; because you can get the happiness from any sources, the true happiness comes within your self.
