Are We Living In A Simulation?
Elon Musk and various another scientist seem to think so!
The first question on my mind was; who the hell is creating this simulation and the second question was why would it include so much misery?
I think the second question is easier to answer I mean, look at some of the most played video games on the market, most of them are pretty violent.
So back to the first question, who is creating this reality?
I think the simplest answer might be the correct one and that is that it's you who is creating it.
Like in a dream (reality) you create a story and play a role in it oblivious to the fact that it's not real.
I believe that in this reality we are also not conscious/aware enough to realize that this is another dream like state.
The good news is that if I'm right then you can basically design and create your entire life to your specifications same as you can control your dream reality in a conscious dream.
Gaining control of your reality I think is done by taking control of your thoughts and not letting them wander off to create undesirable scenarios. It would also mean that with enough realization and practice you could literally dodge a bullet like in the Matrix Scene.

Reality or simulation, if you can't tell the difference they are the same.
A Separate Reality by Carlos Castaneda is a good book on the perception of reality and I think sometimes when we are caught up in things/life we lose track of reality.
