RE: The aftermath

So far, the snow and winter haven't been as bad here as expected, but like you, I've had enough of it. I also sincerely hope that the wood-burning stove won't be needed anymore, even though it's quite cold in the house.
I'm surprised that they shovel snow close to your house. That definitely doesn't happen where we live. The work isn't done properly either, and the same goes for the street sweeper that has to remove the leaves in autumn. They always stay where they are, even though the sweeper always wakes you up or ends up in front of my door.

What a beautiful coin!

We’ve had three big storms this year. Haven’t had anything like this in many years.

Many storms in recent years have also uprooted entire trees and, of course, always caused fences and sheds to collapse and roofs to disappear. But if I am honest, I also mourn my childhood. I even remember several storms that were many times worse. Perhaps we forget easily; I am actually quite sure that this is the case for most people. Such storms certainly make an impression, you would think, at least they did on me, perhaps also because I was home alone as a small child and saw it happen before my eyes, words flying through the air all day long and I stood there watching.
Now I read nonsense like: this was the coldest winter since 2022, and then I think of people looking back a few years to the 1980s or 1970s or 1960s, but suddenly that doesn't seem to count anymore.
