Afternoon everyone ….
Today I’m going to share a world coin with you that is over 100 years old. When this coin was produced it was a heavily used coin in every day commerce. Finding one in this condition is very difficult.
This is a 1915 one lira coin from Italy. I’ve taken over a dozen photos of this coin and can’t get one that shows how nice it really is.
The coin has all of its original luster. There is some unique toning to it but it’s a common thing on a hundred year old coin.

Reverse
Italy standing on a quadriga with a shield on her left hand and an olive branch in the right and the date below the prancing legs of the horses. On the line of exergue is the name of the author to the left and the name of the engraver to the right. In the exergue, the value is flanked by two knots with the mintmark to the left and the Star of Italy at the right.
