"The United States Modern Commemorative Coin program began in 1982. That year, the US Mint released commemorative half dollar coins to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of George Washington. Since that date, commemorative coins have been issued nearly every year to celebrate famous American people, places, events, and institutions.

Each commemorative coin program is authorized under an Act of Congress. The Act typically specifies the subject to be commemorated, the denomination of coins to be issued, and the maximum authorized mintage for each. Additionally, most commemorative coin programs include surcharges added to the cost of each coin, which will be distributed to specified beneficiary organizations or fund projects that benefit the community."

They were issued in Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof finish.

They will be presented in the order they were minted, but only one of each design.

The nineteenth is the PR70 DCAM 2014-S "Baseball Hall of Fame" Half Dollar.

"The 2014 National Baseball Hall of Fame Half Dollar was issued as part of the popular commemorative coin program recognizing and celebrating the 75th anniversary of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Unlike the other two coins of the program, this clad half dollar was not specifically required to carry a domed shape, however the United States Mint exceeded the requirements of the authorizing legislation and was able to strike the coin with a unique domed shape."

PCGS graded 8,529 2014-S "Baseball Hall of Fame" Half Dollars, with 3,806 as PR70 DCAM. 249,049 2014-S "Baseball Hall of Fame" Half Dollars were minted in San Francisco.

I bought this coin in 2014 for $200.00 and today's price is around $170.00. The issue price was $23.95.

The obverse design of the coin featured a baseball glove carrying the inscriptions “Liberty”, “In God We Trust”, and “2014”.

The obverse was designed by Cassie MacFarland and engraved by Don Everhart.

The reverse design featured a baseball with inscriptions “United States of America”, “E Pluribus Unum”, and “Half Dollar”.
