This coin has higher metal and numismatic value then the 1920-1921 Straits Settlement Half Dollar
As you can see in my previous posting the 1920-1921 Straits Settlement Half Dollar only weighted 8.42 gram and it contain 50% silver unlike this 1908 Straits Settlement Half Dollar. That is a debasement of about 53% of the silver content.
I thought British silver coins pre 1919 were 92.5% silver...
Those are sterling and use in the UK. This coin is use in the strait settlement mostly in countries like Malaysia and Singapore where the British had they colonies. Later I will share some British coins.
