Counter-party Risk

in #silver6 years ago

Keeping money in a bank and keeping crypto currency on an exchange is an example of counter-party risk. The functional operation of the external operation is essential to your access to your value. Steemit has a less dangerous flavor of this risk since you can control your own keys. Nevertheless, the Steem blockchain must be accessible to obtain your value.a1drjohnthumb.JPG

Few assets lack counter-party risks, yet they do exist. Hard assets you hold in your possession qualify. These assets however must be free of debt.

Silver and gold bullion are the best choices, but tradable food, medicine, and life requirements are also good options. Your life may depend on what counter-party risks exist between you and your assets.

Here is today’s beauty.

That's an interesting point @doctorjohn. I want to eventually own some land for the very reason you mentioned. Assets that are more difficult for third parties to interfere with have a degree of stability that increases their pragmatic value quite sufficiently.

For now I will have to content myself with STEEM. I don't own any silver or gold currently.

we have assets, and storage that you can not reach. how does it have you
