I am really interested in the cloud system. When we said cloud system lots of areas come with them such as HPC, file sharing, etc. But in this post, I will be comparing file storages such as Dropbox, ICloud, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, etc and also Sia.

First of all, let's start with what they are and how we can group them. All of the could provider except Sia keeps your data on their servers that means they own your data. Sia splits apart, encrypts, and distributes your files across a decentralized network. What does it mean? It means Sia does not own your data, all your data is divided into chunks and separated to all around the world. which will give you peace of your mind. You don't think if they are reading your important data such as an unpublished paper, or they are collecting data about you to sell others but Google and others sell the collected data about your evert time you use their system.

So If the privacy is one of the concerns that you have like me you would like to go a decentralized cloud system. It is not just that when you check the prices they are also cheaper then big companies. They also have some problems. such as ease of use is not as good as others(such as Dropbox) or multi-platform usage is not that easy for now. Sia is not the only project available in this area there are more and more decentralize cloud providers getting in the picture. Such as Bluzelle(which is in ICO right now) looks like a really nice system to make some extra money when you rent your disk for others.

Long story short Cloud System are changing and this change is good for us. I believe SiaCoin also get powerful in time.
