I saw a handful of Monarchs in Ottawa. Friends in Southwestern Ontario saw more where the recovery was stronger. Only the last two photos are mine. After seeing the tiny caterpillar once and taking its photo, I never saw it again. I hope I just missed the butterflies but we had a real heatwave then and survivability is not high. I wonder if I should have brought it inside.
