A new steemit tag #showandtell
The last month or so I have had an idea to roll out a new tag that anyone could use, and would act as a writing/speaking prompt if you will. Hence my idea for hosting Show and Tell or #showandtell.
What is Show and Tell?
If you grew up in the USA, you may already have an idea of what I am talking about. We used to do it as children for school. We would bring something very important to us in to class, show everyone what it was and tell them about it, why it is special to us, and any stories attached to it.

This is EXACTLY what I would like to do here on Steemit! Lets show each other our favorite things. Family heirlooms, your favorite gift, a special book/toy/picture, anything special to you.
What should a show and tell include?
A picture of it
Write about why you chose it
Any further stories, or memories attached to it
Why use show and tell?
First and foremost for veteran and new Steemians alike... writers block is a very real thing. This acts as a new topic that anyone can participate in.
Second, for newer Steemians only, I will be searching through the #showandtell tag this next week, voting, commenting, resteeming, and for HIGH QUALITY POSTS I will be considering nominating them for @ocd daily compilations since I am one of the curators for the project.
Third, I firmly believe this could be a lot of fun for everyone. I know that there are some amazing stories attached to family heirlooms, and peoples favorite things. I know that when we are passionate about something, we write much better, and put more effort into what we do.
I will be posting my first #showandtell shortly. I hope to see yours as well!

While I was reading this, I was listening to music, and suddenly the lyrics "Show and Tell" came up. And I've never heard of it.

This sounds like an awesome idea, bro! Could really generate some good quality content and let people share some interesting facts or stories. I'll definitely have to try and find something to post for this tag, though I don't have anything really cool that was passed down since most of my family died before I was born, lol. I've got lots
of random collection stuff, if that counts!
of course. It is not exclusive to any type of object. Just meant to be a way to share our "cool stuff"
Yeah, just figured though that most people would like to share something meaningful with sentimental value, versus seeing me posting a rare comic book or a gaming collectible, lol. I like showing my shit off though, so I'd be happy to post some stuff to that tag ;)

Yes, please post that. Preferably including a gif of you using it while fighting someone else who also has a custom saber.

This is actually a really good idea. I've heard of this as something supposed to maybe be good to Finnish children too, as we're not really doing anything similar to this.
This could be tried with us grown ups too.
