Shopping at Amarin Plaza: a place full of small arts and craft shops.

Dear friends,

Today I am sharing with you my favourite hangout in central Bangkok. Amarin Plaza is right in the middle of several famous shopping centers. These shopping centers are connected via 'skywalks' or elevated walkways above the roads and traffic. Inside the plaza, the ground floor is normally for a brand-names sale area. Amarin Plaza has four floors full of shops, coffee shops, restaurants, a 'cultural center' or arts and crafts shops, several beauty salons and traditional massages; the fourth floor is mainly for restaurants and a large food hall where some of the best street-food stalls can be located.

I am going to concentrate on some of my friends' shops (these people become my friends as I have been hanging out there very often). This is a very good place to have a quiet cup of coffee with friends or just to buy some organic fruits and vegetables, including traditional Thai sweets.

This organic vegetable stall sells produce from poor and small growers and villagers who could not enter the mass market.
The third floor is my favourite spot as I could walk around window shopping for hours, looking at the hand-made objects or studying the details of some antique pieces of furniture or trying out some Tibetan singing bowls.

There are also handmade souvenirs from the hill tribes in the north of Thailand and other silk bags, shirts, blouses, scarfs including hand-embroidered work too. So, I often tell my foreign friends to come here if they want to search for small and unique souvenirs to take back home.

Besides there is also a very nice ceramic and porcelain shop selling at very reasonable prices, the shop offers packing and transport services. The next door shop specializes in all stainless steel cutlery and kitchenware.

I think we are all quite exhausted by the walk about and in need of some beverage. So, we should take a pause and regroup later for the section on 'cultural center'.

I hope you all have a good time window shopping!

Amarin Plaza Is it a very famous shopping center?
Thank you for publishing in detail.

Hi @leejin33, Yes, Amarin Plaza is next to the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bangkok. It is opposite Kasorn Shopping center which has all the top brands in the world. Amarin used to be the famous Japanese shopping center about twenty years ago. Nowadays, its main customers are over thirty years' group. This is a slow, quiet, and very friendly place for walking around and having a cup of coffee without feeling intimidated by the super rich people and rich tourists. Students like to come to the food court on the fourth floor during the weekends to do their homework and for special teaching lessons with friends.

Amazing and nice post, You are my best friend

@atta09 Thank you very much. Have a nice weekend!
