Black Friday Shopping Insanity

in #shopping8 years ago

This black Friday shopping season, there are a number of retailers that are offering extended sale hours in an effort to grab some of the crowd. They are hoping to draw people online in order to complete their sales there, rather than tackle the tough crowds in retailer locations. Though it is estimated that more shoppers will be headed out to brick and mortar locations this year rather than do their shopping online.

In 2015, just as many people decided to shop online, as those who decided to visit physical store locations. Sales in 2015 rose about 40 percent, whereas in 2014 it was said that they fell around 11 percent.

In the past few years, retailers have been rolling-out their deals earlier and earlier. Some even launching them up to a week or two weeks early. One of the hottest items that people will be looking for this holiday shopping season is the 4K television, and a number of other tech products. It's estimated that Americans will do roughly 50 percent or more of their holiday shopping online this year.

It is expected that at least 130 million Americans will be out doing some shopping this weekend either in stores or online.

Though many shoppers have reported that they will be heading out to the stores, more people are looking for convenience and it'll be no surprise if many resort to going online to search for the same or better deals. They might just at the end of the day choose convenience, rather than brave the crowds in the store.

Forrester Research estimates that holiday sales will top at least $100 billion for the very first time.

It isn't just the U.S. stores that are taking part in Black Friday either, there are U.K. stores, Canadian stores, and other retailers that are also looking to catch some of the shopping crowd with good deals.

I've seen that Victoria Secret clip on YouTube. I am thinking about going to a mall and filming one this year. Haven't commited to the idea just yet, though.

I am one of the poor sods going for a cheap 4k tv. The only thing you have to beware of is that the price might not have actually decreased that much, last year there were a few scandal items that were cheaper or the same price in the run up to it!!
