A total disaster

I was laughing with my son last night about something we have never forgotten. He was quite young at the time so it has left a lasting impression on him.He must have been 5 or 6 at the time as he wasn't very tall and loved pushing the shopping trolley around the shops. You know how it is with little ones, only too happy to help if they are having fun.

I can remember it was in a Sainsbury's shop in Brighton, England. We used to go their fairly often as we ordered a pizza and it was ready for collection after we finished shopping. It wasn't a massive shop ,but more of a satellite gourmet Sainsbury's. In the one aisle there was a temporary promotional display stand with various wines.I think they were mainly reds from the color of the wave my son made.It was a huge display that went from the floor right up to the the top of the shelving.

If all truth be told the display stand probably shouldn't have been put in this position as the one corner protruded out underneath so it wasn't exactly straight. The corner of the stand got hooked underneath the back wheel of the shopping trolley and everything went into slow motion.

There was a loud explosion that sounded like a bomb going off.I am sure the pensioners would have been looking over their shoulders for some extremist wielding a weapon. No such luck as it was just my little terrorist having a bad day.

You could tell in which direction it was coming from as there was a wave that covered the store.A tsunami of wine about ankle deep.It wasn't blood ,but was predominantly red wines. We made some apologies and high tailed it out of there. That was a major clean up job and I have no idea how they could handle that one.

If you drop a jar of something in the shop and feel embarrassed just think back to this as that is nothing. The noise it made wasn't just breaking glass but a proper kaboom. There wasn't just a few but literally hundreds of bottles that went in one go.Luckily no one was hurt and needless to say we didn't go back for a while.

Haha wow. If I had to clean that up I would probably be drinking the stuff that didnt entirely leave the bottles, strain out the glass and enjoy.

There was nothing left as it all just exploded.

Lol, I had a mini version of the same recently when my daughter Becker into a Tabasco sauce display stand and they all went flying! Not quite as much volume though :0D

The whole promotion sold in seconds lol. I can still hear the explosion of the wine bottles going.

Well that certainly puts some experiences of mine into perspective ;)

This was quite a bad one if you have to rate it.

Wow, I can only imagine what that must have been like. Ankle deep! It must have been quite a bit of wine. I don't think I would want to have to explain that to my loss prevention people. How horrible for the young one. He must have been traumatized :P

Wonder what the total cost was . They could claim with insurance . That’s my idea of a nightmare ! 😱😱😱. No wonder he still remembers it .

I wondered that too. Depending on the wine, it could have been pretty hefty!

Stink out the store for a week as well! 😂😂😂

We still chuckle. You don't mind a few bottles ,but there must have been hundreds.

It was hundreds of bottles.I laughed when I saw the wave, but he did get a fright lol.
