A watch or watch is a timepiece used on the human wrist. Wristwatches were first introduced in the 16th century. At that time all watches and other timepieces use manual mechanical drive (hand-winding). The oldest known watch is the British Queen Elizabeth I watches made by Robert Dudley in 1571. From the 16th to the early 20th century, watches were only used by women, while men used pocket watches. [1]

The dominance of mechanical-engined watches for centuries with all its beauty, complexity, and luxury, was ultimately slightly disturbed by the presence of electric-engined watches first introduced in 1957 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA by Hamilton Watch Company. The study of the electric watch has actually started since 1946.

The existence of electric watches did not last long, until Seiko from Japan introduced the world's first quartz motorized quartz (battery) powered engine, Seiko Astron 35SQ in 1969. [2] The birth of these quartz watches is recognized by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) to enter into a list of milestones in the development of the world's electrical engineering science. [3] These types of watches are the ones that completely destroy the Swiss mechanical watch industry hegemony. [4] [5] [6] Quartz watches dominate the market, used by other brands, and become the beginning of global clock industry changes. Watches that were originally produced with limited and exclusive numbers turned into mass production with a more affordable sale price.
