Shivom has developed the world’s largest genomics datahub and healthcare services platform on the blockchain to tackle the challenges related to today’s healthcare system. Cryptography is used to encrypt the contents of a message or transaction for storing healthcare data in a blockchain. The encryption process works via an encryption system that uses pairs of keys which is known as ‘Public Key Cryptography’ or asymmetric cryptography.

The fuel of the Shivom ecosystem is the OmiX token and it is necessary for all transactions which occur on the platform. OmiX token is used to access and procure healthcare related products and services. Individuals, pharmaceutical companies, research organizations, insurance companies, universities, employers etc. which includes in Shivom platform requires to utilize OmiX tokens to settle any activities and transactions.. A reason to use tokens instead of FIAT is that transactions are generally orders of magnitude faster. Tokens are digital. They cannot be copied or reversed randomly by the sender as is the case with credit card charge-backs.
