Something like shipchain.io is something that has been needed for a few years now. I worked for ten years with electronic manifests, and know quite a lot about this. Right now I believe most countries require the sending of an electronic manifest at least 24 hours before the ship reaches its destination port, in the case of the US the requirement is 24 hours before the vessel reaches its load port, also you have to inform the FDA about this when it is food stuff. Of course this is regarding maritime vessels, when it comes to air freight or overland freight I don’t know the requirements.
Added to this you have to have a valid trace-ability option, which in the case of the company I worked for requires knowing relatively accurately where the produce being shipped was grown. This eliminates any worries about where or how the product was grown and packed. Better said it has to show from when it was planted, harvested, packed and shipped.
This is for export and import, but shipchain.io will also be just as useful for companies who move their products in the same country.
With shipchain.io I think these aspects will be all together in one package, added to the tracking of trucks, this will really be a help for large companies and small who need this type of information sometimes minutes after one of the above steps has happened.
Of course I would have to see if it lives up to its expectations, but overall I think this idea has a really great future, and investing in ERC20 SHIP Token should bring big dividends to anyone who jumps in on this opportunity.
