I saw these shadows of the tree trunks as I was walking in the forest behind the house. The deciduous trees have lost their leaves now that it is fall and the temperature is dropping.

There’s a good variety of trees in this forest; Lots of spruce, fir, pine, tamarack, birch, poplars, along with the hardwoods of maple, beech and yellow birch.

Sprinkled throughout the forest are numerous wild apple trees. Although they are not great apples, the animals eat them.

Many acres of forest in the surrounding areas have been cut down and used for farming and growing blueberries. There are 50 Acres with this property and I’m happy to keep it natural so the wildlife have a home.

I love the shadows of winter or winter in the coming. They cast such beautiful tall and lean Shadows across the landscape.

I am so glad that you have saved some of the acreage for your own enjoyment. I love leaving a little piece of something for God's Creatures to spread out and live their lives. Thank you so much showing off your beauty this morning.

Good luck in the contest!

Thanks so much Denise for your good wishes and the tip. 💗 Much appreciated!

So many wild animals are driven out of their homes with all the clear cutting and agriculture that they showing up around towns.

Great shot.

Clear cutting is a disease, and in PEI it’s probably more detrimental that other places based on the prevalent soil and being stuck in the ocean.

Steward your little forest oasis and take forest baths daily. Your mind, body and soul will benefit.

Thanks for stopping by @noloafing. For sure the trees protect the Island and keep the soil in place. One does feel good after a walk through the forest. 😊 🌳 🌲 🍁

I like the image, got many shadow ones, I like the contrast..

Thanks so much @wales. I’m glad you like the photo. 😊

That last line made me happy Jo!! How awesome to have 50 acres and keep it natural. A beautiful entry and good luck in the contest!! 💖

Thanks Dee! 💗 I saw the red fox come by this morning. He was limping. I hope his back leg wasn’t caught in a trap or something.

You are welcome Jo!! I hope he will be okay! 🙏 🦊

It makes me so sad to see trees cut down. Great shadow shot of your happy forest! Thanks for entering, Jo!

Most welcome, Melinda. Thanks for your great contests.

it seems there is less and less woodlands for the birds and wild animals.

It definitely feels that way here, too. Farmers even remove the hedgerows alongside the farm fields and plow right up to the side of the road.

Hello @redheadpei How are you? I love the sun-dappled look of these trees and the splashes of gold from those fallen leaves.
