Great profile shot. It presents a very stark pattern.

It's a wonderful piece of industrial design

I love this! I have 2 old Kenmores and an old Singer that my Mom got when she was 14. They aren't made like this anymore, built to last.

My mother still has a sewing machine that is not as old and still works perfectly
beautiful photo @nikv
Thank you

Reminds me of childhood with grandma and mom with their Singer sewing machine as well. 🙂

Does it Sings !! :) lol ... nice .. how old it is ?

Singer Corporation was first established as I. M. Singer & Co. in 1851 by Isaac Merritt Singer. They mostly made sewing machines, although I have a Singer fridge, too.
This model was first made in the late 1950s. It still works and I still use it. It is called a patching machine and is used by shoemakers

These were made to last. Great seeing one. I have not had the pleasure of seeing one in person however. Thank you for sharing.

If there are any shoe repair shops still left in your neighbourhood, you may see one there

Singer Corporation is an American manufacturer of sewing machines, first established as I. M. Singer & Co. in 1851 by Isaac Merritt Singer with New York lawyer Edward Clark. Best known for its sewing machines, it was renamed Singer Manufacturing Company in 1865, then The Singer Company in 1963. It is based in La Vergne, Tennessee, near Nashville. Its first large factory for mass production was built in Elizabeth, New Jersey in 1863.
