Strange things can happen. I tried to upload my profile pic and cover image from imgur but didn't work. Actually I uploaded 2 profile pics and 2 cover images to imgur, tried with both of them, but couldn't get them appeared on my Steemit account. Then I uploaded them to my wordpress blog, uploaded them to Steemit from there, and boom, worked like clockwork in 2 seconds. The world is weird, and now everyone can see my ugly old face:)
