The Gifted Review#16

Hello guys ready for another series review? off we go then

Today it's time to bring light into Marvel's shows. A couple of days ago we went for a trip into the Dark side with Inhumans a series that was a complete failure for both Marvel and for us. Don't worry i think with The Gifted they balanced it somehow. The Gifted is undoubtedly one of the best series Marvel made this far and below i will explain why.

General Info and Plot

The Gifted is a 13 episode and 43 minutes Action,Drama, Fantasy with Superpowers series that sets in the X-Men Universe after the disappearance of the X-men. In this era it is considered quite common for mutants to coexist with humans but only if they don't use their powers to ''harm'' in any way the rest of the citizens something that if you watch the show you will understand how it works out.

There is even an anti mutant law 

The protagonists of the story are the Strucker family, a family of 4 with Reed Strucker as the father (Stephen Moyer) a prosecutor for mutants,his wife Kate (Amy Acker) and their 2 children Lauren and Andy. Lauren is the older sister and Andy is the younger child the one that got bullied at school constantly. An Everyday life!

Everything starts at the time Andy manifests his power while bullied and almost brings down an entire stadium. From here the adventure starts with Lauren shows her's powers too that had discovered some years ago and run towards their home. Meanwhile the police or should i say the ''Sentinel Services'' a group of police you might say if you haven't heard them from an X-men film or a comic that is responsible of capturing mutants. 

As the children go home and tell their mom everything a whole journey begins trying to avoid Sentinel services and teaming up with an underground mutant net that Reed believed it was some kind of gang to help hide their children and them. The whole show you might say is Mutants vs Sentinel Services

My Review

Comparing the first episode of this and Inhumans the difference is quite obvious The Gifted has proven it's worth with the 9 episodes it has out till now and i can say by now that season 2 maybe quite near!

Characters: The character build is good enough and with the new episodes coming out we learn a bit more about their backstories. Don't expect fancy backstories with a lot of drama but more reality ones ( reality with the dose of the X-men universe :P ). The bonds between them built quite good and for the love of god there are not ridiculous costumes, there are no costumes at all PRAISE THE LORD

Fight scenes: This i believe is one of the keys this show i great. The fights are different each time and suit perfect for each character. You will not see that same and same choreographs but instead you will see exceptional smart fights with their superpowers.  

Plot: Not something out of usual, you can't expect a lot from these types of series especially if you were a fan of Marvel and X-men for a long time, then most of everything show you will know or get it pretty easily. If you on the other hand have no idea about X-men then you will find some surprises and plot-twists inside the show.

CGI: That is the other key attribute of the series. They have successfully merge the CGI creating the superpowers without seen as ''too much'' or ''fake''. First of all you will not watch the same and the same superpowers as fire-ice-water but instead some unique ones and you will not watch all the time. They made it that way in which they only use their powers when they needed too
