You: Season 2 Review
Hey Jessflix and chillers
It's been a while since I found the time and the content worth binging my brains out, but it seems like the stars aligned this week. I had some free time, and You Season 2 was released on Netflix. So I did what many fans of season 1 probably did and closed the blinds, made a bowl of popcorn and got down to the nitty-gritty as we follow Joe Goldberg's escapades once again.
The first season was a stand out show for Netflix, and it was only natural that they would want to give fans what they want. I feel like the show grabs a lot from American Psycho and Dexter, which are also some of my all-time favourites.
Who among us has not looked up a crush online trying to find information about them so you can use it to get them to like you? I think it's pretty normal in this day and age and the show sort of takes that relatable concept and jacks it up to 11.

What Is You: Season 2 about?
After the death of his girlfriend Beck, Joe Goldberg moves from New York to Los Angeles to escape his past and starts over with a new identity, calling himself "Will".
When he meets aspiring chef Love Quinn, Joe begins falling into his old patterns of obsession and violence while being haunted by what happened with Beck. Dark secrets start to come to light as a fresh start to slowly slip away as both Joe and Love reveal their true colours.
What I thought of You: Season 2?
Joe has moved on from his ever grim past and tries to restart his life in LA but still has the same compulsions and finds a new victim to stalk. This love-hungry man stalks his prey and manipulates his surroundings to make them love him back, killing whoever gets in the way, while somehow justifying all he's done by doing it for love.
The show makes you take you deep into the mind of a stalker and once you privy to all his rationality it starts to make you sympathetic to his cause is in every crazy way and change the way you perceive a killer.
The bobbling complexity, which follows the narrator everywhere he goes. Every time the pieces seem to fit and everything is okay; everything subsequently falls apart in the next 5 seconds, which keeps you gripped and wanting to see the next scene and episode. It's pretty easy to get into the story and relate to the various characters.
While the LA woke, culture is equally repulsive as the NY woke culture. It's only background noise for the story to play out and give it a modern feel. Other than that I'm pretty pleased with the direction of the show and with several characters getting fleshed out with their arcs makes for a compelling watch as you see how their stories all seem to link in a town where secrets can't be kept for too long.
My rating for You: Season 2?
This show makes you fall in love with the characters and beg for a happy ending, only to have all your hopes and dreams and love get crushed later, but you will love it. Season 2 had some amazing character development and completely unexpected twists which keep the show entertaining and the pacing on point.
It's not as good as season 1 with a lot of the concepts being rehashed but its all about giving fans more of what they want at this point. I enjoyed this show none the less, and I would give it an 8.5 out of 10 if you're a fan of the show, I highly recommend it. If you're not a fan, I think you should give it a shot.
It also looks like it has been left open for a season 3.
