Optimising your Website.
Basic SEO is a must for any website for it to appear in search engines, there is no point having a work of art site, no matter how good it looks if no-one can see it. So below I have gone through the very basics of what you need to do, to begin the process of ranking.
To begin with, for search engines to index your site, each page, where possible should contain at least a 350-word count of content, these should contain the best keywords for your site and each individual page should have its own focus keyword. You should always ensure that your content is of quality and unique.
All your photos on your website should have alt descriptions based on your keywords.
It is also important that your website has its own SSL certificate.
Each individual page should have its own unique meta-title, preferably containing the focus keyword and you should also write a short and snappy meta description for each page, again with the focus keyword within.
These are the very basics of SEO, and the tip of the iceberg when it comes to search engine optimisation, but by establishing these best practices gives you the foundation on what to build on and improve on to push your website up the rankings.
