sweet, now let's see if that works on me lol... am a minnow...I need anything, something...a monkey a crocodile...throw me a cookie and tell me it is gold...lolol :P
I'm a little lost here.. what's the difference between dofollow and nofollow..meaning if your post gets 'dofollow' status, somehow it is linked up to others' posts so that its visibility increases? Please help :S
It's one of the 200 factors that affects how well your website will rank on Google. "Nofollow" tells Google not to take the link into consideration and it has no effect. A "dofollow" link will notify Google that you're endorsing the site you're linking to, and hence it passes a "link juice" to the other site. For instance, if a quality site like Forbes links to your website, it should increase your website's authority as a whole. As your website's authority increases over the long run, it should be easier for your articles to rank well on Google.
Some decent information right here. I believe 99% of the users didn't think this through at all. It's a good thing Steemit works like this otherwise you'd be getting tons of spamposts.
No that's not how links work. Whether a link is dofollow or nofollow depends on the website itself. For instance, I own a WordPress blog. I can set all links to dofollow if i want to. Steemit happens to have requirements before a link becomes dofollow.
What he's saying is that he is making posts with good seo qualities but they are not showing up in search engines. The reason is because steemit is blocking the posts until they get a high enough payout which appears to be around $10. Less than that and the search engines cannot see your post.
funny you answer now fitinfun cause recently I received a huge upvote of a post I made about a dragon...let's see after payout how things go..but I hold a good feeling :) . thank you 4 reply :)

This steemit strategy explains the high Alexa ranking if they filter for low payout. I agree this makes good sense. But this makes it very difficult for me to entice content creators to come here. I already asked the helpbot to find us the payout level needed so I hope that answer will come soon.
Good job on figuring this out. I'm here to promote my current work already all over the internet. I've been getting small traffic jumps and now I know why they are not bigger on my well seo'd posts. Darn it!
I believe the threshold is around $9 or $10 according to @valth. One of my posts with $10 has a "dofollow" link. I guess we'll have to stick to this platform until we start making above that threshold consistently. Another way is to buy lots of Steem Power. :S
I actually did some testing on this yesterday, and on my post the threshold is somewhere between $9 and $10.

That's awesome! Thanks for letting me know. I guess the target is to hit above $10 then.
I'm so happy to have a target - thank you!
Great stuff, will share these techniques with my friends that are doing SEO
Thanks

If your articles rank well on Google, you get more visitors. Visitors = more money if you're selling stuff..

Thanks @cem. It's a great way of filtering quality content from spammy stuff.
let me get this straight...so...on my new post I shall refer to a link of yours that is a do-follow and my post will change to do-follow?

oh I see, it depends on the owner and how he architect it to run...but still I don't understand your solution..your 1st approach please
