Is steemit good for SEO?

In a word - absolutely.

I recently joined steemit and since I work in Digital Marketing I did a little research on SEO opportunity using steemit.

Steemit authority is growing and it's just starting to gain momentum.

When you sign up for steem it allows you to add your website to your bio:

And by big surprise this websites link is do-follow backlink.
Every comment you leave on the site adding a link - is also do-follow.

Dofollow links allow google (all search engines) to follow them and reach our website. Giving us link juice and a backlink. If a webmaster is linking back to you with this link both Search Engine and Humans will be able to follow you.

Steemit is definitely a great place to get some do-follow backlinks . My guess would be that in a couple of months, when people will start taking advantage of the do-follow backlinks, steemit will have to change the do-follow to no-follow.
