Edit: I noticed it's actually hard to verify the authenticity of this message - it's displayed with the Markdown rendered, and so trying to copy it doesn't give you the original text I signed. To work around that issue, I've hosted the proof externally, and it can easily be verified from there. For example:

This should still constitute a proof that I own this steemit account, since I've posted this new information using said account.
