II. Accepting Responsibility

in #self6 years ago

By this time, you should be aware of what stage of life you are at, and how you have gotten there. The next step is to accept responsibility for it all. It seems like a heavy burden, doesn’t it? It is because it is. The weight of this responsibility is necessary to temper the character getting it ready for the processes you must engage in from this point on. Just imagine you had to admit to all your faults, mistakes, bad acts, and irresponsible behavior each time it occurred and had to accept immediate and complete responsibility for the consequences of each act. If your life could be read like an open book you would be very careful of the content you placed within that book for all to see, wouldn’t you?
You would be conscious of how you spoke, ate, acted towards your-self and others, or even how you allowed others to treat you as all would see you in rare and real form during each of these moments; Passing judgment each step of the way. It would immediately be decided whether you were right or wrong and what consequence should be meted out. The response would be instant. You would, under these circumstances, weigh your decisions more carefully for fear of doing something that would show you in an unfavorable light, or bring about unfavorable circumstances.
Who would, in this scenario, want to be seen as a bad or irresponsible person? It’s fair to say that no one would. It is a natural human impulse to focus on the good of one-self and look for the best qualities while hiding the less favorable portions. If you knew that you would have to honestly admit to and accept complete responsibility for the bad, and suffer direct and immediate consequences derived therefrom, then you would be much more cautious, wise, and thoughtful in the decisions made and would use the foresight and patience necessary to make better decisions.
This is the purpose of having to accept full responsibility for your choices, and the consequences therefrom. It acts as a deterrent to making rash, hasty, and downright bad decisions that could harm your-self and others. If everyone in this world knew that they are completely responsible for the choices, they make and the consequences therefrom and knew for a fact that they would have to suffer the consequences then I can honestly say a lot of things would be done differently. Most people would cease to continue engaging in indiscriminate decision-making without regard to the overall effects. There is no doubt you would be more careful as well.
This type of scenario turns every day into a life or death challenge where the wrong choice could really be fatal. This is a good thing. By default, you will become much more careful about the things you choose to do. This in turn will change the course of events in your life toward a more favorable and positive line of experience, because you will be more inclined to make better decisions. Better choices lead to better outcomes. Be smart. Choose wisely. Things will gradually get better. Be foolish and careless, and it is guaranteed that things will get worse. No matter what the situation is, you are responsible for it all. This is the overall message.
This concept is not governed by the laws of man, but upon the natural law of Cause and effect. This law ensures that every action receives its equal re-action. This ensures that the universe stays in harmonic equilibrium allowing for the continued existence of all within its creation. You could liken it to universal homeostasis. Balance must be kept. We are bound by this law whether we know it or not, and whether we like it or not. You will suffer the consequences of your actions. It cannot be avoided. No matter the situation, you are responsible for it.
