Seinfeld is back! (ENG-ITA)

                                         

Jerry Seinfeld finally comes out with a new comedy special on Netflix. It is part of a very lucrative 100 million dollar deal, that includes another special and the entire hit show "Comedian in cars getting coffee".

Jerry before Seinfeld is a collections of the childhood memories of the popular comedian. It shows how he grew up "on" Long Island (and not in) with his family. The special last around 1 hour and includes 50 minutes of stand up, and 10 minutes of original footage. 

Review

 Jerry is still the same and he keep talking about nothing, like he was doing when more than 40 milion people watched his show on NBC every week. There is some new material, but the best moments are when he's doing the same old stuff but "upgraded" for the uber generation. (by the way what do you do with uber?? ......you take it right?,it's free, it comes with the phone; I'm trying to quote one of the best part of the special). 

The show takes place in the comic strip in New York, where Seinfeld began his amazing career in 1976. Among the ex performer of the club : Louis CK, Jimmy Fallon, Aziz Ansari , Dave Chappelle,George Carlin, Bill Maher, Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Ellen Degeneres and many others. 

The place is amazing, it is always packed and you can see everybody in the room. I think the next Netflix special will take place in some arena, or stadium. But this one was to create a more intimate approach with the audience, and for the first time Jerry talks about himself (even if it doesn't go deep). He stays in his comfort zone.

Anyway I really enjoyed the show, there are some low, but also some really awesome jokes. What else? The special is already streaming on Netflix and it is available worlwide. For Italian audience, you can check out all the original "Seinfeld" shows on Amazon primevideo.

Ciao amici Steemians, Jerry Seinfeld è finalmente tornato. Praticamente in Italia nessuno lo conosce. Ricordo che l'ho visto per la prima volta negli anni 90 su TMC2 a un orario improponibile il sabato sera da un mio amico, poi è andato in onda in orari normali su canal Jimmy(Tele+). Insomma un altra era della televisione.

 In U.S.A è un istituzione, l'ultima puntata del suo show ha fatto più di 70 milioni di spettatori sulla NBC. Le inserzioni pubblicitarie avevano raggiunto le quotazioni del superbowl. Si tratta in assoluto del comico più pagato della storia, e anche questa volta ha siglato con Netflix un contrattino da 100 milioni di dollari che prevede un altro speciale e tutti gli episodi di "Comedians in car getting coffee"(Crackle). Nella serie comedians intervista altri comici, facendo un giro in una macchina d'epoca, spesso italiana. Tra i suoi guest anche l'ex presidente degli Stati Uniti B. Obama.

Recensione

Dopo questa intro neccessaria, passiamo alla recensione. Mi aspettavo di più,nel senso che Jerry non si sbilancia mai troppo quando si tratta di entrare sul personale. Preferisce invece rimanere nella "comfort zone", ovvero fare sempre battute molto educate su argomenti casuali, e tirando fuori alcuni dei suoi vecchi scherzi. Lo spettacolo si svolge al comic Stip live di New York dove ha iniziato la sua carriera nel 1976. Alcuni dei più grandi comici in circolazione hanno cominciato li,come Louis CK, Jimmy Fallon, Aziz Ansari , Dave Chappelle,George Carlin, Bill Maher, Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Ellen Degeneres e molti altri. Il locale è piccolo, quasi claustrofobico con il muro di mattoni rossi dietro Jerry,ma dal palco è possibile vedere tutti gli spettatori. Da anni tutte le sere fanno stand up. Jerry ci racconta di quando ha fatto il provino, e le prime battute che ha fatto quando finalmente si è esibito. Racconta della sua infanzia, del suo primo appartamento ecc Il tutto inframezzato da filmati d'epoca e da qualche ripresa fatta a New York ovviamente.  Credo che lo show funziona meglio perchè sfrutta la componente nostalgia, per chi non conosce il comico/attore forse non è uno spettacolo imperdibile. Lo dico a malincuore. In ogni caso credo che il prossimo spettacolo sarà, in un mega stadio o arena sportiva. Nel frattempo godetevi questo che è già in streaming su Netflix.
