NAV Coin signalling SegWit

in #segwit7 years ago

Hi, Today Cointelegraph Spain brought us some exciting news about NAV Coin and SegWit!
Here's the article: https://cointelegraph.es/news/nav-coin-acepta-segwit

And this is the translation:

''I've been stating this for weeks now: They're killing bitcoin as a cryptocurrency. And it is that such a nonsense having to choose a way to solve the slow pace with which the transactions are confirmed, I am already tired of this!

And that is not it, it is also tiring to see how they are solving this issues in order to reach a "consensus" BETWEEN MINERS. Let's see, they are not the miners of 1 or 10 machines ... It is the POOL who decide according to their computing power. That is to say those who try to make known this alternative currency, those who try to use it or those who use it as they please ... we as users have not much voice or vote.

I have been told that it is logical since the miners have made a great investment and it is true. Among the equipment, the light, the maintenance the investment is more than considerable. But those affected by the slowness in transactions are us! How am I supposed to tell a street business to do transactions in Bitcoin, if the first confirmation can take half an hour? Did we wait half an hour after paying?

And now, it it's getting even worse to see big companies starting to dominate and manipulate the market.

Where was freedom, speed and anonymity? Where was that to be outside the Traditional Banking, the states? When did it stop being ours?

I suppose after a while writing and learning about four things I am like those adolescents who begin to deny their parents.

Anyways, I'm going to spend a few weeks writing about other cryptonotes, other cryptocurrencies that give me what I want.

To start this week I want to talk about NAV Coin. I spoke about NAV when it just came on the market and I committed to closely monitor its development. The experience has been good!, I have seen a coin to grow from the beginning with different ways of approaches and it has always being break for me, as a dreamer.

NAV works with Proof of Stake (DPOS) or proof of participation. In the case of NAV Coin is that your Blockchain progress thanks to the user's wallet being open. In return you will be rewarded with 5% per year.

Apart from that, it has a subchain (a second blockchain that is produced between users to ensure anonymity) already in operation. In addition, each person with a computer and internet connection can install their own NAV server to process anonymous transactions.

But now comes with something new, starting on May 1 NAV Coin will begin the signaling period of Segwit, a week after the publication of the a new update of the walllet to version 4.0.2 based on Bitcoin Core ( the wait for Full application is about a month). As a DPOS cryptomoneda, each user who have a wallet dedicated to "Staking" will choose whether to change to segWit or not, for the simple fact that each user gives life to the blockchain.

If the user wants to change to SegWit an update of their wallet is necessary. And after a month we will see what the audience chooses, although the forecasts are clear, everything wins by Segwit and is probably one of the first to activate SegWit completely.

What I don't like about this coin?

Something very simple. You still can not get a Bitcard, so taking it to the street is still complicated, although its developers said they are already working on that topic.

What do I like about NAV Coin?

It's fast! about 20 seconds per transaction.
Anonymity is assured.
Each user can set up their own server, which implies having a bank at home.
Being the wallets that create the blocks there's no need for big machines, so it is clearly much more ecological.
And finally, the fact that the developers have chosen that the users vote with a "Proof of Participation" whether SegWit is activate or not.
I will continue to look for coins, seeking that essence of a community seeking freedom, Bitcoin is the crypt of the crypt, but for how long?''

A nice article. I feel that this coin is underestimated a lot. People will soon pay attention to it and its good features

Followed and resteemed!

It's great that NAV Coin has PR with a coin telegraph article.

SegWit, though, is not so amazing for bitcoin. SegWit may be good for Nav Coin because it would enable even faster micro-transactions with a lightning network integration in the future.

It's my view coins should strive to have most all of their major transactions recorded on the blockchain because this just makes it a more usable crypto than hiding transactions inside trusted 3rd party LN transactions. This is why I am not a fan of SegWit for bitcoin, but SegWit is useful if it is not used as a poor attempt at scaling (because it is not scaling), but it is used for what it is good for which is to enable additional functionality outside of scaling solutions. LN gets good when micropayments are involved, such as pay as you watch video and other technologies.
