-How has it gone with the SegWit?

We only have to see the result of the vote to say that the response from the community has been excellent, with more than 90% positive votes for the adoption of Segregated Witness on our network. Being the first currency with a consensus system based on PoS that has initiated a consultation process makes us feel even more proud of this vote.

-How was the implantation process within a PoS currency? How democratic was this process?

From the technical point of view the implementation process was simple, since all the necessary changes to our code was incorporated with our update to CORE 4.0. The novelty was to introduce a voting system in which the weight of each vote was proportional to the amount of coins each user has in his or her wallet. There lies a big difference with other voting systems based on PoW, where other entities such as the miners, occupy the role of voters. From our point of view, the way to ensure that the meaning of the vote is as close as possible to what is positive for the community, is by weighing the votes according to the degree of involvement that each individual has in the network; Or what is the same, that the voter is the first affected (both positively and negatively) by the economic impact that the result of the voting could have on the whole. Thus we achieved a system where the vote had to be guided by the common interest instead of the individual.

-Have you ever hesitated in the community response?

I must admit that the adoption of Segregated Witness is something that, despite being supported in our code, we had halted by having other priorities in our road map. As it was our community that most expressed its request for adoption, and be the members of the community that would determine their adoption with the meaning of their vote, I never doubted its adoption, it was only about reaching the percentage and time needed to activated it.

-What are the advantages of SegWit?

Segregated Witness is presented as the great solution to the block size / scaling problem that Bitcoin has. That is why many people obviate other positive aspects that it brings with it. In our case, with blocks of size already superior to that of Bitcoin and a time between blocks inferior, we can allow ourselves to concentrate on all those technical advantages that SegWit contributes us and to obviate other more superfluous debates.
Mainly it allows to solve the historical problem related to the malleability of the transactions and to greatly expand the scripting capabilities, which will translate into new functionalities in our software and new services that will integrate NavCoin as a value transfer service between users.

-Have you had any inconveniences?

The start of the vote was delayed, so we could not get the required percentage of positive votes in the first period. But in the second period the victory of the yes was overwhelming.

-How do you translate the change for the users?

We have already started working on the next generation of NavTech, our private payment processor. Segregated Witness will allow us to implement in practice several ideas that until now had remained as ''research'' and could not be moved from the theoretical plane without requiring a great expense of resources.
Soon we hope to announce more details about how we intend to do all this, and include some surprise that will be welcomed.

-How has Nav Coin grown over time?

Last year we were in the top 3 of currencies in terms of value growth. This year we have multiplied our market cap to over 20 million euros, and the value of a unit of NavCoin has been multiplied by 10 to reach 30 cents. In addition to all these more speculative motivational data, we expect 2017 to be a great year where we can offer new technological advances and from our position we can contribute our grain of sand to the crypto world. We definitely believe that crypto-currencies can play a fundamental role in establishing the society of the future, a more just and autonomous society, and we will strive to offer the best product with the best usability for the self-management of economies.

-In the last update announce negotiations with a wallet card With Who? When does it start to work? For what countries did you think? And when?

UQUID has already announced that it will incorporate NAV into its catalog of accepted criptomonedas in its debit cards. We are also in talks with Wirex to include us in their VISA cards.
