The controversial hard fork editors in Bitcoin have stopped attempting to increase the block size with software updates.

The SegWit2x plan, known for its support from Bitcoin start-ups and mine pools, was planning to increase the size of the block of 494,778 blocs. The plan was targeted to take place on November 16th.

The stopping decision is announced today by BitGo's CEO and co-founder Bitcoo, as well as Mike Belshe, the leader of the SegWit2x project. Mike Belshe said that the SegWit2x plan is too "controversial" to be implemented at the moment.

Mike Belshe: "Unfortunately, we have not been able to provide enough ballot to ensure we can increase the size of the block properly. Continuing the plan The Bitcoin community can be divided into two and adversely affect the development of Bitcoin. This is not the goal of SegWit2x. "

In addition, Mike Belshe said: "We are stopping our plan to increase the size of the block by 2MB until enough votes are available."

This statement was supported by the companies and people who supported the plan from the very beginning. These include Mike Belshe, Xapo CEO Wences Casares, Bitmain co-founder Jihan Wu, Bloq CEO and co-founder Jeff Garzik from mine pools, Blockchain CEO and co-founder Peter Smith and Shapeshift CEO and founder Erik Voorhees.
