WARNING - Scam Website: Fake Steemit Look-alike Website Appears To Be Phishing For Your Logins...
Thanks to @gtg for highlighting that a scam version of steemit exists, operated by the account @theprophet0. The website is steewit.com - apparently intended to look and act as if it is Steemit.com, but it's not..
Do NOT login to this website and always make extra sure you are using SteeMit.com and NOT SteeWit.com.
I have asked for evidence to backup the claim that this site is genuinely intended to scam people and @guiltyparties provided me with this link to a post from a Steem user who has reported logging in to SteeWit.com and then having their login used to upvote comments without their authorisation:

It is possible that @theprophet0 itself got hacked, I am not sure.

that account was acting wonky and downvoting , flagging.....think got on a group chat and was not getting a good vibe AT ALL,

Yeah, seventeen sounds right. I used to have his phone number, but I literally switched phones and cleared the history on the old one three days ago! What are the odds?

OK, thanks - I can see that the account has been upvoting steemsports in the last few days - so it seems unlikely then that the account has been hacked.
yeah i know him from the early days of steamspeak ! He was the youngest witness, 18 years old i think and was running steemsports, that betting game !! seems like not the sort of guy that would pull this bull crap ??!!Someone has managed to get hold of his private posting key ?? could a voting trail that has just recently closed be the source of this problem ! without naming names ))
I see, ok. That witness server has been inactive for a while - but since papa-pepper said that Nolan is a supporter of steemsports and I can see that the account has been used to upvote steemsports recently, it seems likely that he is actually controlling the account. we don't actually know he runs the website 'steewit' but he has linked there.

well he could be in control of that account sure why would he not be ?? But i reckon someone without his knowledge is able to post under his account name !! He needs to be notified and see his response !! Nice to see the team on this quickly ))

Owk this is coming right on time as I just heard that there is an app going round and claiming to be a steemit app which is also a phishing app.
This is just crazy. Why would people want to steal from others when they can channel that energy and enthusiasm into making great contents on steemit and getting rewarded. It's plain stupidity.
