THE SCAM KEEPS GROWING ON STEEMIT. BEWARE!!!

Hello steemit pals

A couple of weeks ago, I talked about scamming on steemit.chat and I urged everyone to be careful with whoever they chat with, especially when it comes to voting promise.

Inconsistency has been my new doings for the past few days and I have been finding it difficult to cope with work, school, family and steemit. I thought the scam alert I raised had put an end to imposters reign on steemit, until a few days ago when I got a chat from @ned. asking me if I needed a full power upvote.

Note: The username is @ned. not @ned (there is a full stop sign at the end of the username which is wrong).

This issue of fraud is growing rapidly and unpredictably harmful to each and every steemian. I guess infiltrating personal accounts is now the latest of all ways of these fraudsters.
I was in a chat room with some steemit friends when someone raised a matter of much concern about an account that can't be accessed by the owner.

The owner of this account whose name won't be mention claimed that the account has not been functioning for a while due to some personal issue that kept he/she away from steemit for a long while. This account in question has been infiltrated by an unknown individual who took his/her time to power-down the steem in the account and also misused the account to an extent of getting it flagged.

The account in question got banned from this beautiful platform and all hope for the real user seemed lost. Gratitude to unrelenting efforts of some individuals who looked into the situation and quickly called the undivided attention of the steemit officials.

Thank goodness, the account has been retrieved

My words of advice to everyone;

Be it steemit.chat or any chat room, I urge you all to always be cautious of whoever you chat with. Chatting is not a crime but if the person you are chatting with isn't real enough, please cut the individual off by using the mute or block user button, which is located on the right side of the steemit.chat.

Make sure you wipe any device of yours that contains any information about steemit before you dispose of them. Doing this helps to keep your information safe from unauthorized usage. Many steemian must have fallen victim of this mistake and missing steem can't be recovered from the thief.

Another important advice from to you is that; Be careful with every link you click. Some might be a link to tools to hack into your account. Not everything that glitters is gold. Some computer expert can set-up a tool that taps into your system immediately you click on a click that belongs to the tool.
