If I was the Steemit hacker this is what I would've done differently to get away with it for years
If I was the hacker I would have done it in a way that would have been rather harmless to users of Steemit and maybe go unnoticed for years and make me much more money then just $75,000.
How I would have done it
It is very simple I would create articles on Steemit on my account every day, use whales accounts and users with lots of Steem power to up vote all of my posts. I would only do it with 1-3 large accounts per day though to make sure it goes unnoticed.
Go unnoticed
For this to work and go unnoticed it would have to be users that have already been voting on a lot of articles and have lots of Steem power. If their Steem power is around 70-90% I would go ahead and up vote my post with their account. Because if the users check there Steem power often it might get noticed quickly if they always like to keep there SP around 98-100% all the time.
The beauty of the whales
Just one large whale can easily earn you $100-$300 bucks from one vote. Once the ball is rolling on an article you will notice lots of people will follow the bandwagon and also up vote it if one whale voted on it. This could turn into big money up voting your own content with whales accounts and large SP accounts. This could potentially be much larger then just $75,000 if you did this every day for 1 or 2 years, it could turn into big money especially if the value of Steem keeps going up more. I might just be dreaming I don't know if you could actually really get away with doing this but this would be better then stealing Steem out of someone's account.
This is only my opinion I don't intend to harm anyone or mean anything by this article.
Do not try this at home this will land you in federal prison.

"Whales" have significant SP, and in relation, equity in the market. Therefore, this kind of behavior will over time screw the quality of the product. Their equity will be destroyed. They will have holdings which are crap, and their initial investment will be fucked as well.
So no...
