Musings #2: Philippine Climate Types

For most living in the Philippines, it is pretty obvious that there are two seasons in the country: the summer season and rainy season. Actually, scratch that. The 2 seasons in the Philippines are the dry season and wet season. This may come as a surprise, even for Filipinos, but the variation of the climate in the Philippines are actually four!

Largely based on the observations and inferences made by Fr. J. Corona about the seasonal variations in the Philippines with respect to its topography, the modified Corona Classification is largely used by meteorologist top make accurate weather forecasts and even utilized for climatic event predictions in certain regions in the country.
