Season Challenge: Slow Signs Of Spring

My entry for #seasonchallenge hosted by two lovely ladies @roxy-cat and @erikah.

In my neck of the woods the Spring Goddess has been slow to wave her magic wand and bring in the warmth needed for the trees and flowers to blossom.

The beech tree hangs on to its leaves all winter. The leaves change color from green to golden brown but stay on the tree until Spring’s new growth pushes them off.

The forest looks barren except for the spruce tree that retains it’s green needles all year.

Walking through the forest the signs of Ole Man Winter can be seen by this graveyard of fallen trees. The heavy snow caused already weak trees to collapse.

Nature takes back it’s own and the fallen trees will eventually decay, vanishing into the earth and helping fertilize new growths.

A bush that is starting to get some new growth as indicated by the red color at the tips of the branches.

Along the front yard the lilies have bravely raised their leaves.

Thanks so much! Appreciated your kind support @helpiecake and @eonwarped. ❤️ 🍰

Very nice sots with the first signs of spring, such a great season. We have a beech hedge around our garden which starts to get some nice green leaves...unfortunately this means i have to do quite some runs with the leaf blower like its fall.
And i really like it when fallen trees are left there to rot as part of nature, giving a nice shelter for little critters and insects.

Thanks @tijntje. It is strange how the beech leaves don’t fall off the branches until the new growth starts but they are an added color in the landscape over the winter.
Yes, definitely good to leave some rotting trees standing or on the ground for the little critters, birds and insects. 🐞

I'm so glad you finally have Spring over there. It was about time to see the lovely lilies sprouting. And thw forest is so beautiful... Yes, Mother Nature takes back what is rightfully hers. 🙂
Thank you for this wonderful entry, Jo. 😘

Most welcome Roxy. ❤️ Happy to have something to post for your fun challenge. It feels good that winter is behind us. It seemed to drag on forever and yet the other seasons go by so rapidly. 😊

Howdy there redheadpei! wonderful photos, that butterfly is magnificent!

Happy Easter! Thanks Cowboy Jon. I hope we have lots of butterflies this summer. Do get a lot of them in your area of Texas?

howdy redheadpei! yes tons of them in our area, just not on our property because we don't have any plants that attract them, at least at this time, perhaps in the future we'll plant some.
