Things You Should Do During Harmattan

If you're in West Africa then It's no news that we're in the harmattan season. Harmattan is very different from the other seasons in West Africa cos of how cold it can get, it usually occurs during December and January, sometimes it gets to February. Growing up, like most kids, I usually attribute the cold, dry, dust-laden wind of harmattan to festivity. I used to say I can smell Christmas cos of the smell in the air that harmattan brings. Harmattan is fun due to the festivity but it can be very annoying because of the cold dry wind, it's very difficult to have a cold bath, not talk of how dry and cracked your skin and lips can get if not properly taken care of. The dust can also be a pain in the ass. Below are things you should do during Harmattan.
Warm bath: The weather is so cold especially in the morning. Hot water can get cold in just a few minutes,I don't even wanna think what cold water will do.
Moisturizing your skin : Always use moisturizing creame or lotion on your body during harmattan period and apply it when the skin is a little wet. It prevents your skin from being dry.
Moisturize your lip. Harmattan makes the lips to be dry and it breaks easily. To prevent this, apply lip balm to prevent the lips from being dry and cracked.
Wear jacket: You can wear jacket, blazers (things like that) but you should wear something decent inside so that you don't look weird when you take off your jacket when it's hot in the afternoon.
Wear trousers: the reason why I'd advice any one to wear trousers is to prevent dust from all over your leg and also prevent the dry cold wind from affecting your leg.
Wear shoes that'll cover your feet. I won't advise anyone to wear flip flop or sandals this period cos you'll look dirty and unkempt when your feets get white (because of the dust) like someone who haven't had a bath for ages.
Wear fancy glasses to prevent dust from entering your eyes.
