SEAPHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST - WEEK 35 - FREE THEME
It's always easy to choose a spectacular sunrise or sunset on the ocean (and I love them as much as the next person) but since it is free week, I'm going to go a little left field.
This photo was taken through a wild weather event at a location known as "Surfer's National Park" at Angourie Point in Yamba, New South Wales, Australia. The waves were CRAZY this day and well worth the drive and the walk to get down to Angourie’s grassy headland (this is where all the action was at!). Surfers weren't entering the water this day but they were all lined up watching and getting excited over the size of the waves as the sets kept rolling in.
While the weather was far from perfect (dull and grey actually), it was the sheer size and force that the waves were rolling in at that captured my attention. I love the perspective the two on lookers give to the size of the waves, as well as the detail in the curls and the spray off the back... Don't you just want to yell, RUN!
