A feeling captured forever
When browsing around I saw the post from @marc-allaria in where he announced the winners from his previous contest and the new theme for this week. It was the new theme that caught my attention.
Sea and Sunsets
Now I don't live near to the sea, but that doesn't mean that I don't have photo's from the sea. Every now and then I have to go to the sea. And in the past when I still had a car, I did that much more often as I do now. But still ... I managed to get some great shots from Sunsets. And the sunsets at the sea are one of the most beautiful ones you can capture.
So this is one of my older photo's ... I took this photo while being on the sea with my dogs. In that time I owned the Canon 5dmkII with the 24-105 f4 lens.
As soon as the sun was setting I remember being impressed and when I saw this little sailboat, and the heavy clouds behind this little boat, I had to take a picture. This little boat there, completely lonely, out in the open sea ... It made me think of this song from Rod Stewart

'Cross the sea
I am sailing,
Stormy waters
To be near you,
To be free
And maybe it's totally not the same for you, but this is how I felt when I saw this ... and this photo reminds me forever.
The power of Photography
What this also tells me is that capturing a photo, really is the capture of a moment, a feeling ... and that to me is the power of photography. Capturing the moments and the feelings forever.
