Sea level rising faster than expected, such study done

Sea levels around the world are probably growing faster than ours. This means that the rate of sea level rise is as much as we are thinking, the odds are the opposite. It has been reported in a study that currently there are no accurate data from sources of sea level.

A study published in Journal Science raised questions about how the sea level increase in low level coastal areas such as southern Louisiana is measured in the US. The increase in sea level is traditionally measured through the tide gauge (sensor setup). However, this does not tell the relative elevation of the sea level (the rise of the water level and the drowning area).

Researchers from Tulane University of America argue that Tide Gauge only shows part of the story in coastal areas such as southern Louisiana. Molly Koeg, who has done PhD in the university, said that in such areas, tide gauges measure up to 20 meters in depth rather than shallow ground surface. As a result, the tide gauge does not enter the growing water level on the shallow subsurface and thus the measure of the relative increase in the sea level affects.

A University professor said that the study shows that the way we measure the level of sea in low level coastal areas, reconsideration is needed. He told that through the tide gauge, there may be a measure of the level of rise in the deep sea, but its results are not correct at shallow places. This does not reflect the relative increase of sea level. Scientists have warned that the rise in sea level should be taken seriously, because it clearly shows the greatest danger.

Studied like this
For the study, measuring the level of sea in southern Louisiana, the researchers used HiTech technology. They used the satellite to see the rising level on the ground surface and found that the increase in sea level was much higher than the increase from the tide gauge. It has since become clear that tide gauges do not display the sea level rise correctly.
