A workaround if you sent your SCT to a non existing account~

in #sct5 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemit Friends,

Just saw an interesting article and thought would help Non Korean speakers understand the work around:

I was reading an article and and came across a post from @goodhello that if you accidentally sent your funds via Steem-engine to a non existing account, it still sent BUT it doesn't go anywhere. So the tokens you have sent out is gone from your wallet but not in anyone's wallet as the account is not there ie non existent. @kingbit actually was the person who sent the funds to the wrong person and here is a picture of the difference in user names

The work around is to open the account that doesn't exist and what he finds is the funds is sitting there in the steem-engine account.

In this case, @goodhello have sent it back to its owners but in future, you need to be really careful where you send your funds to. Double check the user names to ensure it is the right person or your funds will be not be there. Hope the work around would be something you don't need to do one day.
