A SECRET TO ABOLISHING WRITER'S BLOCK!

Don’t be a block head! What do I mean? Did I get your attention? I bet I did! Some suffer from writer’s block, and we all hate it. We all despise it. We all hit that one point in our writing career. So how do we get rid of this dreaded block? It all begins with a tough mental or physical struggle. For the writer, this may be a deep period of “stuckness". For the CEO, it may be planning and executing a demanding business meeting. How do we do it? It is real simple. Just let go Luke! What do I mean? Let go of the project for 20 minutes. Go for a walk. Leave the project alone. Let go of all mental processes involving your writing project.

You must mentally let go of your thinking. I myself let go by washing dishes by hand. Then when I am back to writing, I find that the creative flow is incredible. If you do this, you will hit a peak moment. That fire! That spark! That creative idea that absolutely flows from your wildest imagination. A peak experience will usually appear after you let go completely. We have our egos at stake as a writer. We demand perfection. We demand a lot from of ourselves. We demand that we must fit into this conceptual ideology of what a writer should be. The peak point of your creativity–something unexpected–evolves from a surprise spark of the imagination. This spark takes you to a higher level of performance.

We can feel this in other arenas as well. If you are runner it is called the runners high. Stopping to smell the roses can actually trigger your creativity. How so? There is a stress response, and there is a relaxation response as well. We get stuck in our emotions. We start to live in our heads. We get these emotional feelings of “stuckness"! The folks out there that are self aware (aware of who they are) can always find the path to mastery. The reason? It is part of mastering who you are. It is part of mastering your life. It is part of mastering your craft. Know thyself is the path to mastery.
In creativity, enjoying the journey is crucial, but can you let go of that stuck feeling? When you hit a brick wall, let go of all prior thinking. Abandon it for a moment! You may need to pause, or do something else. We often unlock the doors of our mind when we let go of the task at hand completely and do something else. This is not about getting side tracked or neglecting deadlines. It is about that mental pause.
I am no longer a smoker. I have met some creative types that are smokers. When they went for a smoke break the creative spark would pop. Was it the cigarettes? Hell no! That's what they tell themselves I'm sure. The next reason I heard was "cigarettes relax me" this is also clearly untrue. That's not my point; however, what does it do? It's letting go of all prior thinking. Abandoning the thought patterns about the problem, or creative project. Stuck is just a feeling! Let go for a second. Stop and pause, pray (or not), think, smoke, golf, knit, walk, meditate, or go to the store! Whatever you have to do so you can let go for a moment. These relaxing things may trigger strong creativity.
There are Four phases that lead to deep creative patterns when your stuck:

Phase One --- STRIVING WITH FRUSTRATION

Phase Two --- LETTING GO OF ALL PREVIOUS THOUGHT PATTERNS

Phase Three --- RELAXATION FOLLOWED BY A SPARK OF CREATIVE THOUGHT PATTERNS

Phase Four --- NEW IMPROVED FLOW OF CREATIVITY. A FEELING OF RENEWAL. A FRESH DRIVING FLOW OF CREATIVITY.
