Heading to Scotland tomorrow

Flying into Aberdeen, and spending 2 weeks on the road with a Celtic musician while doing some exploring on my own. Checking out Aberdeen, Aberlour, Elgin, Fochabers, Kinlochbervie, Orkney Islands; Kirkwall, Westray, South Ronaldsay, Inverness then back to Aberdeen. Any tips on what to check out and do in any of these areas would be much appreciated. I'm looking to do some hiking and be outdoors as much as possible.
