That is funny!! You reminded me that I have to start a fresh batch of kombucha. On the list it goes :) I let my last batch go to vinegar and the scoby monsters have been hanging in their hotel. Who knows what has been going on there :)

Hahaha they're crafty little buggers so who knows indeed!
Happy to help! We have had a mould issue this summer, it's our first time dealing with it and it spread despite our best efforts so we're starting from scratch again! :)
oh. mold is nasty!!! Hope your new start goes smoothly. The good thing is - at least here - that so many people are into making kombucha that it is easy to get a replacement scoby.
I think I underestimated how easily it can spread LoL
The spores can get trough fabric cloths and cross contaminate if the jars are close to each other :(
We always just use a bottle of GT and grow the baby :)
Yes. it is good to keep things very clean around ferments and canning and all of that. Glad you found a way to regrow a new one easily
Thank you! I'm glad too :)
Our SCOBIEs were all hanging in a cupboard and it spread so quickly!
First mould issue in 6 years so I guess that's not too bad! LoL
