Hey, everybody, Graham, @kafkanarchy84, here. Today SCN had our first real meetup at the Kobe International Buffet in Higashi-ku, Niigata City!

We didn’t get a whole lot of business talk done as we all were with our families and tending to the little ones, but nevertheless, it was great to meetup and be together in the real world as the core group of this new little community.

This post is a group post for members to share their thoughts and photos from our first little gathering.

As for me, I was glad to meet up and eat, talk crypto and investment, and hang out in family mode with the other Niigata Steemians. The allotted time at the buffet was an hour and 30 minutes, but it flew by and I felt like we needed another three hours to really settle in and talk. I think a night out in non-family mode is in order soon!

That said, it was a great experience, and the kids also got a chance to meet up and get to know each other, and I really feel excited for the direction this little group is heading, and the potential for the emergence of a free market and Steem economy hub here in Niigata City.

First of all another big Thank You Very Much to @kafkanarchy84 for setting up this community account and giving us Steemians here in Niigata the opportunity to connect us even more.

As he wrote above, today we finally had the chance to meet up in person and to warm-up old contacts and to make new ones too.

It was a great get-together for all of us with our families and kids, who reminded us once more that there are more important things in live than the blockchain.

But hey, the next meeting is almost planned and we are ready to get serious. Community ties are established so it's time for some pow-wow to see how we can bring this group to the next level.

I really enjoyed meeting all of you, as mentioned before the time just flew but you know, after meeting each other is just before catching up again.

Therefore I'm looking forward to seeing all you lovely people again very soon.

Shout out to Graham and Elliot for making this possible. A big thanks to Graham as well for finding the place and setting it all up.

It was nice to get together today and see everyone. I hadn't seen @maxinpower in probably 2 or 3 years. (Neither of us could remember exactly when)

I know we didn't get into a lot of the topics we had planned to, but it was nice to have the face-to-face. Kids were being kids playing around and having fun and the adults could do a little bit of catch-up. It's one thing to read everyone's posts but quite another to meet up and see everyone in person. Of course, I am happy with the ability to keep in touch and follow-up on everyone online, but there is nothing quite like in person.

Looking forward to the next one.
