How to Attract Fortune in a Scientific Way

4209/5000
How to attract fortune? Each of us asked at least once in our life.
Richard Wiseman, a British psychologist who teaches at the University of Hertfordshire, is also asked to do so.

For about 10 years he has focused his research on luck.
His goal is to understand what distinguishes the people who consider themselves lucky by those who instead consider themselves the real losers in everything they do (so not only in winning the lot).

Luck, understood as a supernatural entity, does not exist in itself.
However, if by "lucky" we mean who gets many successes in life, it is possible to become one.

The professor has therefore decided to gather all his discoveries in a book, entitled "Fattore Fortuna", in which he exposes the "4 tips on how to attract fortune", that is all those behaviors that, if adopted, increase the chances of turning the own existence.

1. The Fortunati are open to new experiences

How to attract fortune?

The lucky ones, you know, are characterized by a life full of positive events. Wiseman, however, believes that it is not just the result of chance:

"The way the fortunate think and act is more likely to create, notice and grasp fortuitous opportunities. The favorites of fate often claim to have spotted extraordinary possibilities in magazines, newspapers or on the Internet ".

In other words, having an open attitude to new experiences and striving to be extroverted makes you "lucky". By behaving in this way, these people are able to make friends with the people who matter, which they certainly could not do by remaining aloof and avoiding any social event.

2. How to Attract Fortune Follow Instinct

Our instinct has not been granted to us at all, and often leads us to the right choice. In this regard, Wiseman conducted two research to study the role played by the instincts of successful people in their careers.
The results show that the "lucky ones" are inclined towards instinctive choices, both in the professional and in the personal field.
The lucky ones are those who strive to free the mind from too rational reasoning, follow the "visceral" instincts and can give strength to their intuitions.

3. The Fortunates are Optimists

Since the lucky ones are open to new experiences and do not have great expectations, they are very optimistic about what is happening to them and their loved ones.
Those who feel kissed by good fortune have a capacity: they can trust the fact that things will be fine in the end.
The unfortunates, on the contrary, are convinced that every positive thing that happens to him is transient and that soon they will "spoil" a good dose of subsequent bad luck, as if the Universe were to counterbalance their fortune.
Thinking it this way, they put in place harmful behaviors that really make these events happen. It is called "self-fulfilling prophecy", and it is a phenomenon actually studied in Psychology.

4. The Lucky Look The Other Face Of The Medal

There is a famous research that shows how relative happiness is. In this study, it was shown that the athletes who win the silver medal are more unhappy and consider themselves more unlucky than those who get the bronze.
According to Victoria Medvec and Thomas Gilovich, two psychologists from Cornell University, it would be the so-called "counterfactual thought".
In a nutshell: those who arrive second tends to ruminate on how little it would have been enough to reach the first place, while those who arrive third are happy about the fact that, if he had done a bit worse, he would not even have climbed on the podium.

Here, according to Wiseman also bad luck depends on the points of view.
Perhaps you are not unlucky. Maybe you're just looking at things from the wrong point of view.
