THINK@WHY DO STARS TWINKLE !!!!!!!!!!!!

in #sciencepic7 years ago

Ever wonder why stars twinkle, how many stars are there or maybe still what do stars even do for us besides for their gorgeous attire.

  Why do stars twinkle?

Stars twinkle due to turbulence in the atmosphere of the Earth. As the atmosphere shake sthe light from the star is refracted in diverse directions. Which causes the star's image to change at bit in brightness and position.Planets dont really twinkle the way stars do. This happens to be a good way of figuring out if a particular entity you see in the sky is a planet or a star. The reason is that stars are so far away that meaning essentially points of light on the sky, while planets basically have finite size.

What is a star? Which is the biggest? Is the SUN actually a STAR?

A star is a luminous and shining sphere of plasma combined by Gravity. Suprising as this might seem but the sun is a star, if you’ve guessed its the largest star in the universe youre probably wrong The VY Canis Majoris is officially named the largest star in the galaxy. You might be asking well... if its the biggest than why cant we see it and why can we see the sun so let me put you mind at ease, the sun only appears to be seen since the earth is closer to the sun and not closer than VY Canis Majoris.

 How many stars are there?

The universe is ultimately extremely large so dont really know the exact amount therefore it is estimated in calculation to be 100 billion stars grades in a large figure indeed: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars, or a "1" with 24 zeros after it.
