@SciencePic 計畫

Previously @mcw proposed the use of the tag #sciencepic for science photo/ picture post, aiming to help spread science to other steemians outside the @steemSTEM community in a bite size portion. Here I would like to extend a little more regarding the #SciencePic tag to improve its spread.

In order to help further promote the @steemSTEM project (STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) by sharing STEM related photos/ pictures, with a brief descriptions of what that photo is about. We hope to broaden our audience, by including another language to your post, preferably your native language.

為了通過共享STEM相關照片/圖片來幫助進一步推廣 @steemSTEM 項目（STEM：科學，技術，工程和數學) ，請大家上載照片/圖片, 並簡要介紹該照片的內容。我們希望通過在您的帖子中添加另一種語言來擴大觀眾範圍，最好是您的母語。

The advantage of having a bilingual post could further expose the community to the general public at the same time bring science knowledge to others who speaks the same language as you are. However, bilingual posts are not mandatory for #sciencepic tag, it is just to help transfer knowledge to a wider scope of Steemians.

What to do:

1. Post photos or pictures related to STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

2. Include a short description describing what you are trying to show in that photo. The description will be written in English + another language you are comfortable in. (Do not just Google translate it). We are hoping to bring STEM knowledge to other Steemians through photos and pictures sharing.

And here is my entry for the first bilingual Sciencepic, #sciencepic tag.

Aposematism is used to describe a defensive mechanism employed by organism to warn off predators – Apo: away (Greek) and Sema: sign (Greek), go away sign. This is directly opposite to crypsis or camouflage employed by some other animals to avoid predators.

警戒作用是指生物體採用的防禦機制，以用來警告捕食者 - Apo：離開（希臘語）和Sema：標誌（希臘語），離開的標誌。 這與其他動物採用的偽裝行為剛剛相反，離開的標誌以避免捕食者的獵食。

Aposematism usually involves the warning signals, which can be in form of coloration, sounds and odours. Bright colored dart frogs are great examples of aposematic animals; the distinctive bright colors are associated with the toxic skin of the frog. The bright color serves as the warning signal. This signal itself is a defensive mechanism to protect the animal from predator, and it is know to be the primary defence mechanism. Such defence is backed by the actual secondary defence mechanism such as toxin or strong odors.

Such strong warning signal allows the organism to freely wander in the area, without having to stop and blend in to the environment like the cryptic organism. Provided that the predator remembers from previous experience (the relationship between the colors and the negative punishment for other species of the same animal).
