RE: HOW TO GET TO MARS: A Look At Elon Musk's Plan Part 2

in #science6 years ago (edited)

Hi @sigmund nice to meet ya! I want to applaud your well put together posts! Nice work! Being the 'Steward of Terra Matter' that I have been gifted the opportunity to be, i want to raise a few points. Personally, where I am at in life is all about supporting decolonization. Colonization has fucked up generations and generations (on and on) of life on this planet. Which moves me to my second point, the environment of this planet is prid-near past the point of devistation. So, i think we need to take a better look at the fundamentals of life and existance!!!! Get things right, so to speak, at home before we go off terrorizing another environment!! Your post also brings to mind another huge issue to me, if we plan to use CO2 and HO2 on mars for fuel why the hell don't we perfect that use here first?!!! All these issues bring up so much that I am passionate about in my life and the legacy that I want to leave, it is a good opportunity to openly discuss it. And, i appreciate that.

Congratulations on being chosen by the @asspers to have your post showcased!! I look forward to continued discussion on this topic. And, wish you great success on your steem journey!!

Thank You @yogajill for your comment, i'd also like to touch on some of the issues you raised;

Colonization Has Fucked Up Generations

I cannot agree with you more, colonization has indeed affected humans in more ways than we can count, i dare say its one of the major causes of social injustice we now face. However, should we allow mistakes made in the past and at a time when there were no institutions necessary for moral sanity stop us from exploration, something that is innate in us humans. In addition, what damage could we really do to Mars, as a matter of fact the first Mars inhabitants have a very low likelihood of survival. Be that as it may, i agree with you about getting things right on our home planet first.

CO2 and HO2 on Mars

Should we really perfect the use here when we now have electric cars, when we are currently looking for ways to reduce the effects on our ozone layer?

I am however happy that you are passionate about something most people have come to neglect. Please keep the passion going
